Factory Tour

Yahoo Message Number: 35399
I'm in Coburg, OR at the moment, with a service appointment at Coach Care on Monday, and figured I'd spend my morning touring the Country Coach factory, but wanted to know if you get the opportunity to see the interiors of completed coaches? Or is it purely a "factory" tour?

Thanks!

Hi John, The factory tours usually end with a quick look at a couple of coaches at the end of the production line, but not a chance to see the full range of models available. If you really want to see a larger selection go over to Guaranty Luxury Showcase about two miles from the factory and ask for Damon Rapozo. Top Country Coach salesperson in the country and knows the product inside and out.
Tours were twice a day when I was last there, I think at 10.00 AM and 2.00 PM.

Enjoy, it is a good experience.

Dave & Karen,

Thanks! Took the 9AM tour today (with Nick as tour guide). It was very interesting, as Country Coach is the first manufacturer we've toured who manufactures their own chassis... so it was interesting to see that portion of the process (although we have visited the Spartan Chassis Factory, since that is what our coach rides on, and the processes are very similar).

Got the chance to see the insides of a few coaches near the end of the tour. Nothing 100% "complete", but they were in clean-up phase. A Founder's Edition Allure (very nice, with a rear bath), a Tribute, and another Allure.
The whole experience was well worth it... and it had the added advantage of killing just the right amount of time: our call from Coach Care came right near the end, telling us our service work was complete! It was interesting to see that there was very little difference in the overall manufacturing process between CC and the other brands we've toured (Newmar and Travel Supreme). I was also surprised that the overall number of coaches rolling off the line from CC wasn't higher (Nick said they are running at about 8/week right now... and about 14/week at peak). Those numbers are pretty much the same as Newmar, but I was under the impression that Country Coach was a "larger" manufacturer.

Anyway, it was a morning well-spent.

We have not toured the CC plant yet but we have done a bunch of coach tours. I'm surprised you said not much difference. We have seen a many differences in the different manufacturers (yes we thought Newmar and Travel Surpreme were similar also). For instance, Newell was pretty amazing :-). Of course, they are assembly line processes. :-)

We are planning on doing the CC tour next summer, we are really looking forward to it.
