1997 CC Magna hydraulic level light” is on

1997 CC Magna, Detroit series 40 motor, Gillig chassis.  My “ hydraulic low light” has come  on.., the previous owner changed the filter last summer(1000 miles since) and the stick reads full.  Any ideas?
