Remodeling Slide

We're remodeling the main street side slide in our '04 Inspire Genoa.  There was water damage that the PO had repaired.  Whoever he hired to 'fix' the interior wall panels must have been an 8yr old.  I'll have to snap and post a pic of the workmanship.

I have a few questions for those who have taken on this type of renovation.
Do the inside window frames need to come out?  Assuming the wall panel slides behind the edges of the frame.

Anything need to be done to shore up the windows?  Don't need broken windows if they'll fall out.

If needed, is it possible to add a thin spacer behind the new wall panel to create space for new wiring?

We're going to leave the cabinets above the table out, and toss the valences in favor of curtains.  I'm adding puck LED lights to the slide ceiling (had them in our Newmar Mountain Aire and miss the ambient lighting), and replacing the reading lights with new LED reading lights.

Thanks!
