C9 Cat quit running

First off, new to this site.  Recently bought a 2006 Inspire with Cat C9. 400HP.  Love the quality and features on this RV.  Bought it in Florida and on trip back to NC had no problems other than motor performs like it has less than 250HP.  ASSfter doing a deep clean we decided to take it to a Cat dealer and have them check engine for low horsepower.  When we left storage lot we noticed right rear air bag wouldn't air up.  Problem #1.  Decided to take to local truck dealer 5 mile away to get this fixed before driving 30 mile to Cat dealer.  Two mile later engine shut down, like it ran out of fuel or key was turned off.  Temps and pressures were all fine.  Engine turns over but won't start.  Problem #2.  Towed it to the truck dealer for repair.  Any suggestions on problem #1 or #2?  Thanks

Hi,
Welcome. We have an '05 Inspire w/CAT 400hp as well.
Maybe I can give you some possible causes on your 2 issues:
issue #1- A. air bag split or is leaking badly and you are unable to maintain pressure.
              B. ride height valve is leaking or improperly adjusted.

issue #2- A. fuel filters are clogged. It is a good practice to always carry spare fuel filter and water separator filters with you for this reason.
              B. ECM failure or fuses or circuit breakers tripped within the starting circuit. In the chassis battery compartment, you have several circuit breakers. Check those for tripping condition.
              C. HEUI pump (fuel pump) failure. These pumps have a reputation of failing due to, in some cases, infrequent oil changes. We change our oil every 6K miles or once per year, whichever comes first.

Hopefully, it's something simple as the last 2 items are very expensive to replace.
Please let the forum know what your service folks find out.
Thanks
BOBM
